My name's Bob Lehman, and I've had my amateur radio license since I was a teenager in Johnstown, Pa in the late 50's. My first call as a Novice was KN3CCZ, and I operated 40 meters CW. My very first rig was an old ARC-5, which was modified for crystal control I had a lot of fun with that.
To make a long story short, eventually my interest dwindled, I got rid of my equipment, and altough I kept my license, even upgrading to Amateur Extra, I did very little operating until.....
In 2001, I decided that I would dig out
another old ARC-5 I had in the junk bin. After spending a lot of time building a power supply, etc., I was once again on the air operating 40 CW and I loved it!
